Wrong Direction

Not doing my home exercises for two weeks finally caught up with me. At physical therapy today it was obvious that I've lost ground in my recovery from ACL reconstruction. Turns out these PTs might know a thing or two afterall! Back to squats, lunges, single-leg squats. And now we're adding some small jumping exercises to retrain my leg and knee to handle running down the stairs.

Ugh, squats. Horrible torture and fabulous results, eh?

Oh, me too!
I felt so guilty going in and showing of my backwards "progress" to my physio last week.

Squats and lunges are the last things I want to do with aching knees at the end of a long day at the hospital, but...

I spent my WHOLE DAY TODAY in the orthopedics clinic advising patient after patient after patient about the importance of physio as I assessed their range of motion post -op. I'm such a "do as I say, not as I do" person today, and I feel terrible!

Hi Clerk! How's your knee?

Everyday I trick myself into thinking that "since I live in NY, I walk a lot" thus I don't have to do the exercises my PT gives me. Well that turned out to be false.
